Jim Kresge

Jim brings a powerful combination of deeply technical experience as a CTO and proven expertise in technology strategy and digital transformation, in both a large-company and start-up context. Over his 30-year career, Jim has established himself as a transformative strategic executive and creative technologist who has built and run some of the most widely used and disruptive software solutions in the financial services industry.

​Most recently, Jim was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at The Endowment Project, a philanthropy-tech start-up bringing private school alumni development, fundraising, and asset management to US public high schools.

​Before joining The Endowment Project, Jim was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Koalafi, a FinTech disrupting point-of-sale finance in the US. As CTO, Jim led everything Koalafi did with software and technology, and built one of the best software engineering teams anywhere.

Prior to Koalafi, Jim was a leader in Capital One’s technology organization where he led mobile and payments software engineering for the company. During his time with Capital One, he created the company’s first mobile app, created the banking industry’s first interactive voice solution on the Amazon Alexa and Microsoft Cortana platforms, led the implementation of Capital One’s digital payment capabilities such as Apple Pay and virtual cards, and was the engineering leader of Capital One Labs which focuses on creating innovative features and technology.

​Jim is active in the community, serving on several non-profit boards that promote STEM education to K-12 students.
